Is your siding cracked, warped, or letting moisture behind it?
Damaged siding is more than a cosmetic problem, it's a gap in your home's weather barrier. Cracked or warped panels let water get behind the siding and into the wall sheathing, where it can sit and cause rot long before it's visible from outside. Vinyl siding that's warped from heat or impact won't reseal on its own, and fiber cement that's cracked or chipped exposes the material underneath to moisture it wasn't designed to handle directly. The fix ranges from replacing individual panels to a full re-side depending on how widespread the damage is.

Cracked or chipped panels
Fiber cement and vinyl both can crack from impact or age, and once the surface is broken, moisture has a way in that wasn't there before.

What to expect during the visit
We inspect the siding, the flashing at the roofline and around windows and doors, and check for soft spots or rot in the sheathing underneath. For a repair, we replace the damaged panels and address whatever let moisture in to begin with, whether that's flashing, caulking, or a gap in the original install. For a full re-side, we remove the old siding, repair any sheathing damage found underneath, and install new fiber cement or vinyl siding to finish the exterior. Is fiber cement siding expensive compared to vinyl?
Fiber cement generally costs more upfront than vinyl due to the material and installation labor involved, but it tends to hold up better against impact and fire than vinyl.
