What we look at during the inspection
Every slope of the roof, not just what's visible from the street
Storm damage tends to concentrate on the slopes facing the direction the wind or hail came from, which often aren't the slopes visible from the driveway.
Gutters, vents, and other exposed metal
Soft metal dents easier than shingles do, so it's often the clearest, fastest indicator of how hard a storm actually hit the property.
The attic side, when a leak is suspected
Checking the underside of the decking for staining or daylight helps confirm whether water actually got in, not just whether the surface looks damaged.
Whether the damage is isolated or spread across the roof
Isolated damage is usually a repair, while damage spread across most slopes points toward replacement instead.
What to expect during the visit
We walk the roof slope by slope and photograph anything we find, from hail bruising to lifted or missing shingles to dented metal. If there's a reason to check the attic side, we do that too. When the inspection is done, we tell you plainly whether there's damage worth a claim or a repair, or whether the roof came through the storm fine. There's no pressure either direction, and if there's a claim to file, we walk you through what meeting the adjuster looks like.
